Stephanie

This is Stephanie Gately, she's my character in the "Call of Cthulhu" rpg. The story takes place in the early 1930s

Steph is an Antiquarian, she was born in Dublin on the 16th september 1903.
She has a brother called Ciaran and a cat named Patrick.
Her father Marcus Gately is an (in)famous archaeologist and adventurer, known much more for being a tomb robber and a relic seller than for his theories and competence ^^"
So, one day Stephanie was at home in Dublin, when her absent-minded, careless, selfish and disgraced father sent her a letter from who-knows-where and told her something like: "Steph, honey, daddy has some little problem with some bad men, let's say they did not like our last business. Please be a good girl, take your little brother, pack up all your things and all the "souvenirs" I took back from my research trips and go to New York. I have a friend there who runs an antique shop, he could use a business partner, and you're good with this kind of things, aren't you? Love, Daddy"
Stephanie tore the letter to bits, but did as her father asked, so now she lives in New York where her skill and knowledge (she has a laurea in History and Art History) made the shop (for wich I admit I still have to find a name xP) one of the most renowed in town, even if some of the things she has there are not exactly acquired honestly...daddy's bad habits are hard to get rid of XD
Stephanie is strong minded, stubborn and sometimes insolent...and pretty short-tempered ^^"
She's a convinced feminist and a modern woman, she smokes, she drinks in spite of Prohibitionism, she knows how to drive and how to shoot a gun better than any man (well, at least daddy taught her how to take care of herself).
She's Catholic, so she always quarrels with Father Hastur, my friend 's character who is a Protestant priest XD
Last thing to know about her, she is totally and completely fortuneless...I mean really really unfortunate, other people start their adventures out of curiosity or duty or in search for knowledge, while Stephanie got caught in it just for her bad bad luck XD
Anyway, this was a pencil drawing adjusted with Photoshop CS5 to look like an old photograph ^^

The name Stephanie Gately is in memory of the late Stephen Gately, member of Boyzone who died in 2009

Questa è Stephanie Gately, il mio personaggio nel gdr "Il richiamo di Cthulhu". La storia si svolge nei primi anni '30

Steph è un'antiquaria, ed è nata a Dublino il 16 settembre 1903.
Ha un fratello di nome Ciaran e un gatto di nome Patrick.
Suo padre Marcus Gately è un famoso (famigerato) archeologo ed avventuriero, conosciuto più per essere un tombarolo e un ricettatore di antichità che per le sue teorie e le sue competenze (che pure non sono niente male, ma la gente tende a scordarselo XD) ^^"
Insomma, un giorno Stephanie era a casa sua a Dublino, quando il suo stupido, scellerato, disgraziato, egoista e spensierato padre le ha spedito una lettera da chissà dove, in cui le diceva qualcosa del tipo: "Steph, tesoro, papino ha qualche piccolo problema con degli uomini cattivi, diciamo che non hanno gradito i nostri ultimi affari. Per favore, fai la brava, prendi il tuo fratellino, impacchetta le vostre cose e i "souvenir" che ho riportato dai miei viaggi di studio e andate a New York. Ho un amico lì che ha un negozio di antiquariato, e gli farebbe comodo un socio in affari, e tu sei brava in queste cose, no? Ti voglio bene, Papà."
Stephanie ha fatto a pezzettini la lettera, ma ha fatto come diceva suo padre, visto che comunque non aveva molte alternative, così adesso vive a New York dove le sue abilità e le sue conoscenze (è laureata in Storia e Storia dell'Arte) hanno reso il negozio (per il quale ammetto non ho ancora trovato un nome xP) uno dei più rinomati della città, anche se alcune delle merci in negozio non sono state esattamente reperite in maniera del tutto pulita...le brutte abitudini di papà sono dure da mandar via XD
Stephanie è decisa, cocciuta, testarda e a volte insolente...e anche un tantino collerica ^^"
E' una femminista convinta e una donna moderna che fuma e beve alla faccia del Proibizionismo, e sa guidare e sparare molto meglio di qualsiasi uomo (beh, almeno papà le ha insegnato a prendersi cura di se stessa).
E' Cattolica, e per questo bisticcia sempre con Padre Hastur, il personaggio della mia amica che è un prete Protestante XD
Ultima cosa da dire su di lei, è totalmente e completamente perseguitata dalla sfortuna...voglio dire davvero davvero sfigatissima, ci sono persone che iniziano le loro avventure per curiosità, dovere o sete di conoscenza, ma Stephanie ci si è trovata dentro unicamente a causa della sua incredibile sfortuna XD
